This project has been set up by www.familytreeportraits.com. It is for those interested in genealogy and family history and was born out of my own desire to find an old photograph of a 'Saunders' ancestor that I didn't have - and still don't have! I believe there is someone out there with this photograph. Often photographs were passed to the eldest in a family and therefore many generations down as the family grew younger members of the family and their descendents lost information. On other ocassions photographs are found with a name on the back and doesn't know what to do with them and no clue where they came from- well why not upload them here now!

It is free to upload and search I hope to keep it that way and use advertising to pay for the upkeep as it grows.

So please upload your photographs as without the photographs it will not grow. There is no need to send your photographs in, instead scan them in or have them scanned in by someone you know and upload them at your leisure. Scanning does not damage your photographs and actually once you have that copy on computer you have a backup for yourself as well.
